Project Overview:
Lang Lang Showgrounds is a venue and community hub in Victoria, hosting events like agricultural shows, rodeos, car shows, campdrafts and more. The project was to design and develop a website that clearly communicates the venue’s offerings, event calendar, venue hire options, and community involvement. It needed to be welcoming, informative, and reflect the country-community charm of Lang Lang, while being easy to navigate for visitors, organisers, and community members.
Role:
- Created the site structure with sections for Events, Venue / Venue Hire, About Us, Clubs, Contact etc., to make info intuitive for different users.
- Designed the visual interface with imagery to evoke the rural / community / tradition driven nature of Lang Lang Showgrounds (photos of events, showgrounds, etc.).
- Developed front-end using responsive design to ensure good usability on desktop, tablet, mobile.
- Built the website in WordPress, allowing for flexible content updates (adding new events, updating images, venue hire info).
- Integrated contact information, venue hire enquiries, and event listing capabilities.

- Homepage with welcoming identity: “Welcome” message, large imagery, strong sense of place.
- Event Listings / Attractions: Showcases upcoming and signature events (Rodeo, Agricultural Show, Show & Shine, Campdraft, Show Jumping etc.).
- Venue & Venue Hire section: information about the venue, how to hire, what amenities are available.
- About Us / Clubs sections to strengthen community connection.
- Contact & Location easily visible (address, map, email).
- Responsive / mobile-friendly layout.
- Clear navigation so that different user types (visitors, hirers, event-goers) can find relevant info simply.
Outcome:
The live website gives Lang Lang Showgrounds a strong, accessible online presence that mirrors its community spirit and rustic appeal. It helps prospective event attendees and venue hirers quickly understand what the showgrounds offer, how to engage, and how to contact. The structure and design reduce friction for people exploring events or enquiring about bookings. Overall, the site supports greater community engagement, makes administration easier, and strengthens Lang Lang Showgrounds’ visibility.
